How long should I plan for hair and makeup on my wedding day?
We schedule one hour per service for safety. If timing is a concern, we can schedule shorter appointments but will have less flexibility if anyone runs behind. Once your hair and makeup ready times are confirmed, we'll create the beauty timeline for you and your bridal party to follow for a well-coordinated schedule of services.
Can artists stay for touch-ups?
We recommend booking your artists for touch-ups if you're planning first-look or family photos prior to your ceremony. Touch-ups are charged by the hour and calculated in 15 minute increments.
Do you charge a travel fee?
There is no charge for travel to locations within 30 miles of zip code 90291. For locations outside of our local range, a modest travel fee may be added. Destination weddings are booked at day rates and include travel fees.
Should I tip the artist?
For convenience, a customary 20% gratuity is added to wedding contracts. For all other bookings, gratuity is not required but graciously accepted for the recognition of exemplary service.
What type of payments do you accept?
For wedding and large party contracts, we accept checks, bank transfers and credit card transactions through online invoicing. For all other bookings, Venmo is also accepted.
Do you require a minimum of services?
For weddings, we require a minimum of three (3) services per artist. Touch-ups may be added to meet the minimums.
Do you do large wedding parties?
We have a sizable, hand-selected team of artists and we're able to accommodate large bridal parties and family. For a relaxing getting-ready experience, we book up to five (5) clients per artist and book additional artistry when needed.
Do you provide clip-in extensions?
Our stylists can apply clip-in extensions as part of our service, however, we do not supply extensions. We have great supplier recommendations if needed.
Do your artists use airbrush?
While we prefer the natural radiance of traditional makeup, we have artists who specialize in airbrush at an additional fee.
Do you use "clean" or all-natural products?
Page Beauty artists are independent contractors who work with customized kits, tools and products. Because sensitivity to all-natural ingredients is common, artists have a combination of products to best suit most skin types.
If you prefer to use only "clean" or all-natural products, you're welcome to bring your own items to use. Please note, your artist may recommend another product for better performance for your specific event.
Do you offer services for the rehearsal dinner, welcome party or post-wedding events?
Yes! Our team loves pampering clients, and clients love the continuity of professionally styled hair and makeup for all wedding events. We encourage clients try a bold or contrasting look to the wedding day look.
What is required to hold my wedding date?
We require a signed contract and a non-refundable deposit to hold your wedding date. Upon scheduling your hair and makeup trial, a soft-hold is placed on your wedding date and expires two-weeks following your trial.
What is your cancelation and postponement policy?
Services may be canceled up to 30 days of the event date to avoid cancelation fees. Deposits are transferrable for postponed services. Written notification is required for all canceled and postponed services.
BRIDAL HAIR+MAKEUP TRIAL
How soon should I book a trial?
We recommend booking your trial as soon as possible to ensure Page Beauty artists are available on your wedding date.
Can I schedule my trial the same day as my engagement shoot or another event?
Scheduling your trial the same day as another event can be convenient, however, the look we create at your trial is tailored for your wedding day. If you'd like to reveal your look on your wedding, we recommend scheduling the trial on another day.
How long does the hair and makeup trial take, and where does it take place?
Trials take between 1.5-2 hours with proper preparation. We have a private studio in Venice Beach where we do most trials, or we can go to you. Our studio space is quaint and accommodates up to two additional guests.
How should I prepare for the trial?
Prior to your appointment, we'll ask to see your hair and makeup inspiration photos. We'll also ask for a photo of yourself in everyday hair and makeup for an idea of your comfort level in makeup, and a glimpse of your hair length and texture.
On the day of, please arrive with clean, dry hair that has not been flat-ironed. If you require a blow-dry, we can re-wet your hair or you're welcome to arrive with damp hair. Please have clean, moisturized skin preferably without sunscreen. We also recommend wearing a white or light-colored top to avoid any bounce of color onto your skin.
If you have any hair accessories or clip-in extensions you'd like to use on your wedding day, please bring those to the trial.
