How long should I plan for hair and makeup on my wedding day?
We schedule one hour per service for safety. If timing is a concern, we can schedule shorter appointments but will have less flexibility if anyone is late to their appointed time. Once your hair and makeup ready times are confirmed, we'll create the beauty timeline for you and your bridal party for a well-coordinated schedule of services.
Can artists stay for touch-ups?
We recommend booking your artists for touch-ups if you're planning first-look or family photos prior to your ceremony, or if your wedding is taking place close to the beach or on a mountain top. Touch-ups are charged by the hour and in one hour increments.
Do you charge a travel fee?
There is no charge for travel to locations within 30 miles of zip code 90291. For locations outside of our local range, a modest travel fee will be added. Destination weddings are booked at day rates and include additional travel fees.
Should I tip the artist?
For convenience (and one less detail to remember on your wedding day), a customary 20% gratuity is added to wedding contracts. For all other bookings, gratuity is not required but graciously accepted for the recognition of exemplary service.
Do your artists use airbrush?
We use traditional foundation for the most natural texture possible.
How much are your services?
Our pricing starts at $1950, or $2500 with a preview session. Clients typically spend between $3200 - $5500.
What is required to hold my wedding date?
We require a signed contract and a non-refundable retainer to hold your wedding date.
Do you do large wedding parties?
We have a sizable, hand-selected team of artists and we're able to accommodate large bridal parties and family. For a relaxing getting-ready experience, we book up to five (5) clients per artist and book additional artistry when needed.
Do you use "clean" or all-natural products?
Page Beauty artists are independent contractors and work with customized kits, tools and products. Because sensitivity to all-natural ingredients is common, most artists have a combination of products to best suit most skin types.
Do you offer services for the rehearsal dinner, welcome party or post-wedding events?
Yes! Our team loves pampering clients, and clients love the continuity of professionally styled hair and makeup for all wedding events. We encourage clients try a bold or contrasting look to the wedding day look.
Do you provide clip-in extensions?
Our stylists can apply clip-in extensions as part of our service, however, we do not supply extensions. We have great supplier recommendations if needed.
Do you have grooming services?
Yes we do! Our basic grooming service includes a gentle skin care preparation, complexion correction with light makeup, and light hairstyling.
What is your cancelation and postponement policy?
Canceled services incur a $250 administration fee. Services may be canceled within 60 days of the event are charged in full. Retainers are transferrable for postponed services provided artistry is available on the new date. Rates are not guaranteed and are subject to change without notice.
What type of payments do you accept?
For wedding and large party contracts, we accept checks, bank transfers and credit card transactions through online invoicing. For all other bookings, Venmo is also accepted.
How soon should I book a preview?
We recommend booking your preview as soon as possible to ensure artists are available on your preferred preview date and on your wedding date. In general, artists are booked 3-4 weeks in advance for previews, and weddings are booked eight months to a year in advance.
Preview sessions are available Monday through Thursday, with limited Sunday availability.
Can I schedule my preview the same day as my engagement shoot or another event?
While scheduling your preview the same day as another event may be convenient, the look we create at the preview is tailored for your wedding day. If you'd like to do a second look at your preview session, an additional hair and makeup fee will be added.
How long does the hair and makeup preview take, and where does it take place?
Previews take between 1.5-2 hours with proper preparation. Our private studio is in Venice Beach, or we can go to you (travel fees apply). Our studio space is quaint and accommodates one additional guest.
How should I prepare for the preview?
Prior to your appointment, we'll ask to see your hair and makeup inspiration photos. We'll also ask for a photo of yourself in every day hair and makeup for an idea of your comfort level in makeup, and a glimpse of your hair length and texture.
On the day of, please arrive with clean, dry hair that has not been flat-ironed. If you require a blow-dry, we can re-wet your hair or you're welcome to arrive with damp hair. Please have clean, moisturized skin preferably without sunscreen. We also recommend wearing a white or light-colored top to avoid any bounce of color onto your skin.
If you have any hair accessories or clip-in extensions you'd like to use on your wedding day, please bring those as well.
