FAQ

How long should I plan for hair and makeup on my wedding day?

We schedule one hour per service for safety. If timing is a concern, shorter appointments may be scheduled with less flexibility for unexpected delays. Once we confirm your hair and makeup ready time, we'll create the hair and makeup schedule for a well-coordinated schedule of services.

Do artists stay for touch-ups?

We recommend booking your artists for touch-ups if you're planning first-look or family photos before your ceremony, or if your wedding is taking place outdoor. Touch-ups are equally important if you're changing into a second gown after the ceremony. Touch-ups are charged by the hour and in 30-min increments.

Do you charge a travel fee?

There is no charge for travel to locations within 30 miles of zip code 90291. For locations outside of our local range, a modest travel fee will be added. Destination weddings are booked at day rates and include additional travel fees.

What fees are included for destination weddings?

Reimbursed travel fees include airfare to/from LAX, hotel or Airbnb (whichever is most cost efficient) ground transportation, travel days and per diem fees. Destination bookings start at $4000 and for one lead hairstylist and one lead makeup artist at a full (8) hour day of service.

Should I tip the artist?

For convenience, a customary 20% gratuity is added to wedding contracts. For all other bookings, gratuity is not required but graciously accepted for the recognition of exemplary service.

Do you have grooming services?

Yes we do! Our basic grooming service includes a gentle skin care preparation, complexion correction with light makeup, and light hairstyling.

FAQ

How much are your services?

Our pricing starts at $3100 with an in-studio preview session. Clients typically spend $5600+ for the wedding day.

What is required to hold my wedding date?

We require a signed contract and a non-refundable retainer to hold your wedding date.

Can I use my own hairstylist or makeup artist?

To ensure a high standard of service and aesthetic is met for both hair and makeup, our contracts include an exclusivity provision and we only work alongside Page Beauty artists for the bride and bridal party.

Can you work with large wedding parties?

We have a sizable, hand-selected team of artists and we're able to accommodate large wedding parties. For a relaxing getting-ready experience, we book up to five (5) clients per artist and book additional artistry when needed.

Do you offer services for the rehearsal dinner, welcome party or post-wedding events?

Yes! Our team loves pampering clients, and clients love the continuity of professionally styled hair and makeup for all wedding events. We encourage clients to try contrasting looks for each event based on the wardrobe choice.

Do you sell or provide clip-in extensions?

We do not sell or provide clip-in hair extensions, but our hairstylists will apply your clip-ins as part of our service. We recommend The Hair Shop for the best quality extensions. If your clip-ins require trimming on the day-of, we'll schedule additional time for the trim. Hair/clip-in trims are an additional $75. We strongly recommend extensions for Hollywood wave hairstyles.

Do you use "clean" or all-natural products?

Page Beauty artists are independent contractors and work with customized kits, tools and products. Because sensitivity to all-natural ingredients is common, most artists have a combination of products to best suit most skin types.

What is your cancelation and postponement policy?

Canceled services incur a $250 administration fee. Services canceled within 60 days of the event are charged in full. Based on availability, first payments are transferrable. Original contracted rates are not guaranteed and are subject to change without notice.

Do your artists use airbrush?

We use traditional foundation for the most natural texture possible.

What type of payments do you accept?

We accept checks, bank transfers and credit card transactions through online invoicing for weddings and large events. For all other bookings, Venmo is also accepted.

In-Studio Preview Session

How soon should I book a preview?

We recommend booking your preview as soon as possible to ensure artists are available on your preferred preview date and on your wedding date. In general, artists are booked 3-4 weeks in advance for previews, and weddings are booked eight months to a year in advance.

Preview sessions are available Monday through Thursday, with limited Sunday availability.

Can I schedule my preview the same day as my engagement shoot or another event?

The look we create at the preview session is designed for your ceremony look. If you're ok wearing a look that's similar to your ceremony hair and makeup, we can schedule both on the same day and do a simple adjustment for your engagement shoot or other event.

How long does the hair and makeup preview take, and where does it take place?

Previews take between 1.5-2 hours with proper preparation. Our private studio is in Venice Beach, or we can go to you (travel fees apply). Our studio space is quaint and accommodates one additional guest.

How should I prepare for the preview?

Prior to your appointment, we'll review your hair and makeup inspiration photos and a photo of yourself in every day hair and makeup. This allows us an idea of your comfort level in makeup, and a glimpse of your hair length and texture.

Based on your hair inspiration and hair texture, we'll advise if you should come with clean/dry hair or clean/damp hair for a blow dry. We request clean, moisturized skin preferably without sunscreen or Vitamin C serum. We also recommend wearing a white or light-colored top to avoid any bounce of color onto your skin.

If you have any hair accessories or clip-in extensions you'd like to use on your wedding day, please bring those as well.
